Health and Fitness
In this project I recorded my physical activities over the course of about 5 months. I set up a specific plan that I would follow to get for my school fitness requirements met. At the end of the 5 months I looked at my progress over that time
Fitness seminar, semester 2
For my physical I did a seminar project my sophomore year with multiple other people where we met every day and did something for physical education, this seminar was called the Fitness seminar Semester 2. In this we went over what it means to be physically active and healthy in all aspects of life, these include not only physical but being mentally healthy as well. What I did was, I recorded my eating and activities for the months from February to April. Things that were recorded were things such as my calorie intake, my calories burnt doing activities, my time spent being active, and logs for each day that I record telling whoever reads it my mental outlook that day. To get all of this data I used the "Lose It!" app on my hand held device so that I could record anywhere I wanted and any time I wanted. It was a free app suggested by my adviser for the seminar.
This project met 8 of the 11 leadership and life skills learning targets and and 5 project skills. For graduation you need at least 3 semesters worth of physical education. In doing this project I got 1 semester done and will continue to do PE for the following years.
I also did another health project call healthy living where I looked at some of the same topics as I did in the Fitness Seminar, things like mental and physical health. In this project I took a closer look on media and technology and how it effects peoples lives today. The project ended up hitting my last 3 leadership and life skills required for graduation. This project got me 1 project skill too and will help me towards graduation seeing how I had none of these skills met my freshman year.
